Yay, I need volunteers to help me since it's definitely going to take a lot of effort. I've been going thru a few things in my mind as to what needs to be done. The tech team installed the Star Trek template for me and I think it looks amazing. I just need to get my admin rights and then I'll post the link for you guys to test. The hard part would be modifying the Training Manual. Going to the new software means that we need to update the training manual to reflect the new format. That will take time, but I think that can come secondary.
I like Lone Wolf's idea on having a department head to help spread the fun and to make sure everyone is engaged. Here's what I think we need to accomplish:
- Come up with a roll out plan for the reboot
- Set up the new software
- Communication plan to recruit people who actually have time to write and not write for the first few weeks and then disappeared. I'm not naming any names, but we had multiple cases of that.
- Determine how positions will be assigned and to whom
- Do we all agree to use new characters? The only downside of this is that I will need to coordinate with the Personnel Manager. He will retire your current characters and we create new characters at the rank of your last highest character or lower. You'll lose all history on the new character though. For example, the first recorded date would be something like 11606.23 Captain assigned to the USS Something.
