[Visiting Dutch]
The words seemed like distant wisdom to Thomas, the truth was that this last couple of days had felt taxing enough never mind the though that the remainder of his waking hours as a commissioned officer in Starfleet would be just as busy. Yet somehow this was always the passion for many young officers who graduated from the academy. They dream't to to have an impact on the universe and on the Federation and in the only way they knew how. All he could hope was that as he dedicated his life to Starfleet, as he had always done, that Jenna would have a place in it, somewhere.
Sitting up proper on his chair he felt hunger get the better of him stating, "If you have no plans you will have to join us for a drink then Dutch." It was more telling than asking but he knew the doctor would say yes anyway. It was hardly a new thing to find every member of the senior staff in a bar on shoreleave, in fact their were times Thomas could call out and find half the ship present on a crowded evening. Music blaring, pool tables out and a final escape from work well underway, it was good times he could remember with his second family.
The thought of new family changed the conversation. "We got some fresh crew coming on board, notably I seen the file of a new Operations Officer float past my desk, you reviewed his file yet?" He was just trying to stir conversation but it was always important to see what others thought of the files.
