Upon beaming aboard the Broadsword transporter room, Van noticed that the ship was remarkably calm for one that had a hostile intruder. It looked like the intruders hadn't taken over the entire ship yet. But then an idea had struck him. If the intruders were still isolated, why not beam them off the ship directly? Van stepped aboard the transporter pad, holding his new antiquated weapon and his mind played over the inherent irony of that statement in his head. He heard Captain McKnight say to Lt. Resnov, "Lock and load. Energize". The next thing he realized he saw blue sparkles engage his whole body and he was off into yet another unknown and dangerous situation.by VTrieu - USS Perseus
Van watched in silent amazement as Lt. Resnov briefed Captain McKnight on the new more "unorthodox" weapons the away team was about to outfitted with for this mission. From his own hazy recollections from old historical holo-vids, it looked like the Lieutenant was holding an old semi-automatic assault weapon from the mid-to-late 20th century. He briefly stifled a grin. If weby VTrieu - USS Perseus
Trieu and R'Kul had beads of sweat running down their faces. They and an entire security detachment had rushed over to the Transporter Room in order to meet the Captain. When there, Van was busily making sure all the armbands that the security detail were outfitted were properly working. "Have your security teams report to the transporter and be prepared to beam over to them. We also need to be prepared to be boarded ourselves." As soon as Trieu entered Main Engineering, he saw R'Kul waiting for him at the MSD. Van silently laughed to himself, R'Kul was do dependable and punctual you could set your chronometer to him. "Have Engineering get started on those bands immediately and you get some rest, Lieutenant.", Van heard the Captain say as he left the Briefing Room en route to the Bridge. "Do you two have any ideas on how we can protect ourselves from turning into one of them? It was really close in our last encounter with them and I for one don't want to end up as a zombie," asked the Captain. Van heard Captain McKnight direct this question to both him and Dr. O'Connor. As Captain McKnight affixed a black pip to his mustard colored collar, Van couldn't have felt prouder. He had worked hard in Engineering to get a posting aboard the Perseus. As the doors opened to the Observation Lounge that also doubled as the briefing room, Trieu suddenly realized that nearly the entire senior staffs of both the USS Broadsword and the USS Carina had assembled, in addition to the regular command staff of the Perseus. "By the way, I'm Dr. Michelle Lee. I recently transferred to the Perseus from Starfleet Medical. "I'm so sorry, Ensign!" Before he even registered hearing those words, he felt a slight bump on his elbow. He turned around and noticed that a young doctor had accidentally run into him. Hours had passed since his first engineering team had entered the heavily damaged Bridge. Van was underneath the Captain's chair, re-configuring its interface circuits. As Van and his crew finally crawled out of the Jeffries tubes accessing one of the auxiliary corridors to the Bridge, they knew they were in for a huge mess.
