As Ens J’het returned to the Flight Deck a booming voice called to her from across the massive bay, “Ensign!...Ensign J’het!...Over here lass!” It was MSgt Stonehammer and he was waving to her from where they had moved the wreckage and debris. “We’ve almost got it.” She walked over to where he and another crewman were diligently struggling with a bent piece of bulkhead that wasby lonewolf - USS Broadsword
While sitting and talking with Ensign Kodar, time slipped away easily. They slowly finished their meals and were discussing various aspects of the investigation from a technical perspective. They had no hard evidence yet of the possible cause, so it was simply a matter of collecting data for review at this point. The review may take minutes or days, depending on how lucky they were. As the turbolift came to a stop and they exited, J’het looked around to orient herself and quickly determined where they needed to go to. It was actually a small lounge or break area of sorts that had a number of replicators available for common use and lots of tables to sit at and enjoy a meal. A number of the crew were eating or simply enjoying the company of others and talking freely.by lonewolf - USS Broadsword
J’het stepped into the turbolift and thought for a second before commanding, “Mess Hall.” The computer chirped once, then twice and finally registered a destination. She quickly used the console on the inside of the turbolift to display a layout of the lift’s destination. She noted the area of the ship and tapped for the LCARS menu to display a view of the deck they were headed to.by lonewolf - USS Broadsword
Ens J'het was glad he picked up on her hint of introductions and responded warmly, "Glad to meet you Ensign Kodar. Yes, I'm sure it was only a simple oversight by those in charge. After all, we're on the same side here, and we're all interested in getting to the bottom of this to avoid anything future difficulties. The young man entered and said in a rather timid way, “Well sir, I am rather well versed in holographics. Before I came into Starfleet, I wrote holoprograms for fun. I specialized in transporter technology in the Academy, and a great deal of the holodeck functions are derived from transporter technology. What isn’t transporters, is mostly just energy fields and projections, but the trickby lonewolf - USS Broadsword
J’het noted someone moving toward her and looked up to see a species she had never encountered before. A quick run through her memory narrowed down the likely origins, but there was something about him that took a minute. The skin pattern and neck indicated what she would guess to have been Cardassian, but she had to dig into her memories of Federation History classes to recall that They ocby lonewolf - USS Broadsword
The door chime sounded on the quarters of Lt Lawson. As the door opened, the occupant was greeted by the enthusiastic grin of a young man with dark hair. He was wearing an engineering uniform and holding a PADD in one hand and a repair kit in the other. “Oh, excuse me. I’m looking for a Lt Lawson. J’het finished her initial scans of the impact areas in the ship and walked over to the place where the wreckage had come to rest. Repair crews were standing by, but had not started the repairs as yet. The large and burly man who had been barking orders approached her. As the turbolift doors opened the noise of the Flight Deck assaulted her sensitive Vulcan ears. She winced and fought back the sharp stab of pain in her inner ears. She quickly reached into her pouch once more and felt around for her sound dampeners. She found the small case and opened it, pulling out two small devices. She discreetly placed one in each ear. J’het was at first torn on how to respond to her supervisor’s closing remark. He had technically welcomed her, though she felt anything other than welcome. She managed to fight back the impulse to point this out though and in as monotone a voice as she could manage, she replied, “Thank you, sir.” She did so without turning to face him though, and then continued out the door, glad toby lonewolf - USS Broadsword
A Joint Post The large access doors to Main Engineering opened and the small form of Ens J’het entered the relatively large bay that spanned three decks. She glanced around and quickly spotted her target, the office of the Chief Engineer. Walking through the buzz of activity, she moved directly to his office and having been summoned, she moved directly to his desk. Centering herself on itby lonewolf - USS Broadsword
The familiar gruff voice of the Senior Maintenance Officer rang through the chatter of onlookers, “Look at this mess! What the heck are you bunch doing rubber neckin’ at it like tourists, go get some tractoring sled and anti-grav plates and get this heap out of the way.” The large figure stepped from the shadows, still wiping his hands on a greasy rag and stuffing it into the back pockeby lonewolf - USS Broadsword
The Captain quickly reviewed her orders and quickly handed them back to her. He had been polite but brief. He was obviously quite busy, so she did not want to bother him further. She simply replied, “Thank you sir.” His manner implied that she had been dismissed, so she took a step back. With only a slight look of embarrassment she reached up and tapped her comm badge and stated in a calm tone, “Ensign J’het here. In a smart manner, J’het came to attention, took one step forward and held out the PADD with her orders on it as she said, “Sir, Ensign J’het officially reporting for duty.” She often felt that the less said the better when addressing superior officers. A barely noticed hiss of a turbolift door was heard as an unremarkable figure exited. The woman was a short but clearly adult Ensign wearing an Engineering uniform. She carried in one hand a PADD and stepped silently but directly toward the Captain.
