Robert was pleased to find that his engineering cree had made an efficient start on getting the Trinity fully powered and prepared for departure, increasing the power generated by the warp core to bring the ship’s core systems to full readiness. He stowed his kit in his office and sat down at his desk to review the status of the main systems and prepare to report to the captain. A few minuteby gforbes - Valdivian Station / USS Trinity
I’d like to see some departmental cross-training so that everyone has at least a basic knowledge of what to do in their department in an emergency. Things like basic damage control, basic trauma care, defending against boarders. The sort of things that need to happen to save lives before the specialists turn up.by gforbes - Valdivian Station / USS Trinity
I wish I’d been able to participate more, I was all ready to get down to ops but sadly life got in the way.by gforbes - Valdivian Station / USS Trinity
Although my posting rate dropped off considerably towards the end of the exercise, I really enjoyed it. It was a pretty extreme situation to suddenly be in and I think we handled it with some great writing. My only noteworthy issue is that I felt like there was a lot of stuff for some departments to do and much less for others. It might be my lack of imagination but I felt I was starting to rby gforbes - Valdivian Station / USS Trinity
Tark patted Robert on the back. “You did an excellent job and you’re an asset to this ship. Dismissed.” Tark saluted. Robert left for Main Engineering with a smile on his face. LtJg Zolar didn’t seem one to hand out such effusive praise easily and Robert was immensely pleased that the chief of security was happy with his work. “They check out as OK. Thank you Matheson!” “Not a problem sir,” Robert replies, glad that his team had got things hooked up so efficiently that even LtJg Zolar was impressed. “I need to set getting things prepped in Main Engineering, though I’ll have someone come up and troubleshoot if things turn problematic up here. The reports weren’t reassuring. The deuterium was still being pumped out and without a manual override there was no way to stop it, save donning an EVA suit and physically decoupling the thieving vessel - a risk too great for Robert to comprehend with an unknown number of unidentified enemy vessels outside. “Right, pack up. No sooner had LtJg Zolar’s message finished Robert arrived in the labs, toolkit in hand, trailed by 6 engineers who quickly set about securing and hooking up Dr Keller’s medical equipment. The engineers were working quickly and efficiently, being guided around the unfamiliar kit by Dr Keller’s medics to make sure that the equipment was all appropriately placed and in full working order.by gforbes - Valdivian Station / USS Trinity
“Someone’s stealing our deuterium,” Robert said, astonishment and disbelief in his voice. “Everyone spread out, get the outflow valves shut off. Try the control panels on each tank first, but if they’re offline thanks to the power surge then we’ll have to shut them down manually. I want status reports on each tank as quickly as possible.” He turns back to the main deuterium storaby gforbes - Valdivian Station / USS Trinity
Robert is on his way too. Really sorry about my lack of posting recently, I’ve had all sorts of stuff dropped on my lap at work since I got back from holiday and I haven’t had the energy to do anything other than collapse in front of the telly most evenings. Will try to get back to more regular posting.by gforbes - Valdivian Station / USS Trinity
Matheson quickly gathered his toolkit and his personal tricorder - he'd finally got it set up the way he wanted and didn't want to have to go through the whole rigmarole again. "Senior Chief!" he called, and Behr appeared silently around the corner, as if he knew that something was in the offing, though the speed of the senior NCO grapevine meant that he very likely already knewby gforbes - Valdivian Station / USS Trinity
"I want all departments prepped and ready to depart within the hour. Computer, unlock the doors. Dismissed everyone and let's get our people home," said Harvey as he concluded the briefing. Robert flipped his tricorder closed, stowed it in his belt pouch, and drew his phaser. "Environment seems OK, but we don't know what might be waiting for us out there. =/\= Engineering to Matheson, the team we sent to OPS was able to seal off the level, but it is open to space in several places. =/\= Right...Situation Report...as far as I can tell, we were attacked, but other than the initial attack, there hasn't been anymore damage. “Obviously, we would prefer to repair them and escort the ship back, but all options are open. That may depend on how much Engineering magic our CEO can work. I initially applied to be the MO, but got posted as CEO presumably because of shortages. “Good work Alpha team,” Robert called, seeing that his DC team had finished their work on the malfunctioning power inverter and were efficiently packing up, ready to move on to the next crisis. =/\= Sir, we lost contact with OPS. I have also not been able to raise the Captain or XO. It is possible that they took damage. We saw an enormous power drain.
